Despite many obstacles, while growing up in a single-parent home in Buffalo, NY, Marc dreamed big and set lofty goals. His determination and relentless work ethic led to success in high school with hockey, football, and boxing. While on the path to becoming a professional boxer, Marc’s life took a drastic turn and his athletic career was sidelined for ten years.
Then at the age of 31, he entered the wrestling ring and achieved fame as a WCW and WWE Wrestling Champion. For 14 years, Marc entertained audiences worldwide as “Johnny B. Badd,” “Wildman” Marc Mero and “Marvelous” Marc Mero – reaching the pinnacle of athletic success — and then lost it all to bad choices.

A family and youth advocate, ordained minister, and sports celebrity, Marc has conducted hundreds of media interviews and made appearances on several national TV shows.
